Gimp does not create thumbnails for xcf images. How can I create thumbnails? Thank you.

Hi! Is there a way to change the new hand cursor to the previous text stick one? I found it very annoying, since it cover the values, and dont let me see exactly behind the slider when increase or decrease values. Thanks any input on this.

Hello, wondering if anyone has any insight into this problem. I've tried 2.x and 3.x Gimp.

See attached image, hopefully it'll still be here. On the left are common fonts, e.g. Baskerville, times new roman, etc. rendered in Microsoft Office and showing the correct apostrophe. On the right is how Gimp is rendering them. I know fonts have many forms of apostrophes (e.g. left, right, etc), but I cannot find any way for it to render apostrophes correctly. Any idea on how to fix them?

Note, this isn't unique to Gimp as I've found a few programs that also don't work so I'm imagining it's the font renderer mis-interpreting the glyphs properly?

If the image disappears it's basically the fonts have curved top heavy apostrophes (like a comma), i.e. with serifs, but in Gimp it is rendering them all as sans-serif versions.

Hi, I have version 3.0.4 and I offline help isn't available so I downloaded and installed it separately. It still says that offline help is not installed locally. I have looked in edit-preferences-help system-use locally installed copy and I get the same message. Any advise? Thanks

       

For some reason, GIMP 3.0.0 won't let me paste one jpg image onto / into another. It used to be a simple select, CTRL-C, open other image, CTRL-V. Now all that happens is that hideous checkerboard pattern shows up in the right side boxes. What am I missing? Both layers are fully merged down in the originals. Trying to scale the copies layer results in it disappearing.

For a long time now any email notifications from Gimp-Forum.net have gone straight to the on-line spam folder (not the one in Thunderbird) of my yahoo.co.uk email. This afternoon I thought I would change the email address used by Gimp-Forum.net to a talktalk.net account - this also goes straight to the on-line spam folder  

Is this forum (or its host) blacklisted by all email providers? (not that I will be able to see any responses unless I look here or log-in to webmail to check the spam folder  )

Is there nothing that can be done to fix this?

The plugin ofn3-layer-tiles fails to register. The verbose console messages of the Gimp-start on this point are:

Ok so I don't really play the lottery but my uncle does, and I like to see odds/probability of different results.

I share the odds and before making this SIMPLE javascript tool, I would do the math myself with google calculator (just from the search bar) to figure out square size and then draw based on that in GIMP and add my own text to label it.

But then I thought I might do this more often in the future posting to forums so I thought to make this tool.

I just have to enter the odds (can be floats/decimals).
And it calculates the size to draw on javascript/html canvas for me.

First version just drew squares of predetermined colors.
But I have updated it a few times since then
and now it allows you to enter colors of your choice and description and displays the odds too.

I like it.
Then I can save the image and post like below
