Hallo,

I try to put text in Gimp, I keep getting the message "The new text layout cannot be generated. Most likely the font size is too big."

As soon as the text size goes past 28, for any font, i get this message

Hi All,

I have recently been undergoing Logo design and have now completed my logo :

I am now trying to convert the image into Vector format with Inkscape as I have been reading in other posts however the text is going blocky and not crisp colours and outlines as it is in Gimp.

Is there a certain way I should be doing things in Gimp before this or can I do this any way inside of Gimp?

I have several large (10800x7200) 1 bit images that have many single black pixels scattered all over the images. What is the easiest way to select ONLY these single black pixels and nothing else?

My layers toolbox is frozen... All the buttons are greyed and I can't select a layer. I was just trying to move the current layer down the list but nothing happened.
I read in another post that I should have "auto follow active image" selected, which I have tried, but nothing has changed.
I've been using gimp for a while, and can find solutions to most problems in various forums, but this one has stumped me and I'm up against a deadline! Any help gratefully received.

I want to ask if there is a plugin, like pdb.gimp_text_layer_set_markup, but instead of markup, this to use about functions/modules of TeX. For example: if want to put a footnote in a text_layer, to call this plugin, instead of make a new text-layer with a separating line and a -usually- smaller size font.


If there is not something like that, I want to ask if you think is useful a trial of developing something like that.
As for me, I 'd be very eager to contribute.

I'm a  GIMP newbie who wants to print the online help contents.

(1) is there an EZ way ?
(2) if not, there are books avail for sale but the latest one is for 2.8. When will 2.9 be avail ?
